Common Questions about Vacation Rental Homes

Note: Be sure to read the Rental Terms and Conditions before reserving a cabin.

Q: Can I make a reservation right on the web site?

A: Absolutely!  You can reserve Big Bear cabins directly on our web site, or call our friendly reservation person at (909) 266-1499.

Q: Will my credit card be charged immediately?

A: Yes. Once you agree to the reservation, you are obligated for the full rental payment.  For Big Bear reservations several weeks or months in advance, payment options are available.

Q: Do you ask for a check for my security deposit?

A: No. Security Deposit Insurance is covered in your contract.  It will cover most accidental damages for up to $3,000.  Don't be afraid to report damage, that's why you have insurance.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Once placed, only reservations more than 30 days away can be canceled and refunded.  During peak seasons, cancellations must be made more than 60 days in advance.  There is a cancellation fee.

Q: Why should I purchase travel insurance?

A: Because of our strict cancellation policy, we recommend travel insurance to cover you in case you have to cancel.

How many of us could afford to lose the non-refundable part of our trip if something unexpected happened? Your vacation investment is protected when you buy CSA Vacation Rental Insurance, which covers you for trip cancellation, delay, and interruption. Big Bear Dream Cabins has partnered with CSA Travel Protection to provide you with this important insurance and we highly recommend that you purchase the protection to safeguard against the unexpected.

We all want the trip we’ve planned to be the vacation of our dreams. No one wants that dream to turn into a nightmare, but unexpected events can happen! Troubles can occur when you least anticipate them, illness...medical emergencies...delayed flights, snow storms, and other severe weather. Forcing you to cancel or interrupt your trip, lose your vacation investment, and incur unplanned expenses. Coverage Questions? Call (866) 999-4018

Q: Do I need to carry chains for my car?

A: During snow conditions, the highway patrol will not allow you to drive up the mountain without chains.  Some homes are on hills and you will need a 4WD vehicle to get to them during snow conditions.

Q: What is in each home?

A: All homes have pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc. in the kitchen, as well as sheets, pillows & cases, blankets and towels.  Exception:  Singing Pines Lodge.  You will need to bring blankets and towels.

Every place has different amenities.  Some have DVD players, WiFi, TV service, games, etc.  These items are listed on the website under the page for each house.  If it does not list something, it isn't in that particular house.

Firewood is not provided. You can get firewood bundles or Duraflames at KMart and other stores in Big Bear. Note: Be sure the fireplace is wood burning. Some are gas only.

Each house has an informational binder with WiFi codes, etc for your use.  Please read through the binder when first arriving at the house.

We hope you enjoy your stay in beautiful Big Bear!
